Biden’s infrastructure act has done huge benefits for our country. Also finally a president who is calling out those elected and running for what they have done and will do. Democrats need to get better at tooting their horns.
I’m so tired of old white men running this country. At the same time, Biden truly has done so many positive things in his first term that we’d be hard pressed to find any candidate who could match his accomplishments. He has my vote and support. I also plan on buying the yard sign that says “Dictator or Democracy, that’s the choice” (hearourvoices.com)
This is an argument I have with my 23-year-old son, who is alarmingly dismissive of Biden but who also would never vote for Trump. I'm in complete agreement, Annabel. Biden has actually moved the needle. I'm baffled about why so many Americans can't see that.
I don't like Biden; but he has really been an excellent president, and has the most crucial of attributes: he is Not tRump. So I will vote for him again: the alternative is an end to our democracy.
I hear voters say daily that they will not vote for a genocide enabler. They may be a minority, but they are a large and growing minority whose votes will be crucial. The only reason Trump won the first time is all the voters who turned to 3rd party candidates. That is what will happen this year unless the violence in Gaza ends.
And that is the point of this essay. I excoriate those voters who would condemn this country to fascism because they disapprove of the actions of another sovereign nation. The President of the United States does not control Israel or its president. Anyone who thinks he does is a tool.
This essay is not about Israel or Gaza, but it is about the type of person who would attempt to throw our election at a time when representative democracy is hanging on by a thread. This type is generally white and privileged. They will not be hurt if DJT is able to use their "protest" failure to vote, or 3rd Party spoiler vote to sneak back into the White House. That type is contemptible.
I am so glad you will be voting to protect our fragile democracy in November. I don't care if you do hold your nose. The vote still counts.
Annabel I couldn't agree more. I can't hide my rage when people call our president Genocide Joe and we aren't living In democracy.
They all need to STFU and get TF on the blue bus.
One person in particular had said they don't live in a democracy. I advised them to go Russia or North Korea and complain and see what No Democracy means.
