The huge problems facing life on earth in the form of climate and ecological collapse were never going to be solved by our American federal government, no matter how much the world insists it needs us to lead.
This is not how the world is saved.
When the Republicans have control of the White House it is hopeless because they have no intention of admitting there is an issue at all.
When the Democrats have control they bat at the issue like a cat tiring of a dead mouse, but never have ENOUGH control of congress to make a meaningful dent.
It is time to stop waiting for a political solution. It is time for the world to stop waiting for the United States federal government to lead.
With the catastrophic takeover of our federal government by fascists it is time to understand this: it is up to us.
Many of the things that will help us survive fascism will also be good strategies for addressing the collapse of natural systems.
Lets talk about those things--what self reliance strategies will work and in what situations?
For instance, what are things city dwellers could implement? How can rural folk cut out fossil fuel consumption when they depend on cars? There are plenty of questions. Now to develop answers.
