A Possible Crack for the Light to Shine Through

So far I have called it on every fresh hell since Trump got into the race, and more so since November 5th. I took a certain amount guff from various people for saying they seized power illegitimately. Then DT admitted it on January 20.

I talked about the guardrails being inadequate--and now we are seeing the courts ignored and more. I said that every one of the reprehensible cabinet picks would be confirmed. They were.

I was told I was "too negative" and "spreading fear" as if a little person writing for a relatively small audience could really spread anything. The fear is coming from observation of actual events in real time.

In everything I wrote in the run-up to election day I said "If he SEIZES power" because I did not and do not believe he could win a free and fair election. And I knew what he was going to do because I have studied what Hitler did in the 1930s in Germany, and they we obviously copying what they knew to be a winning strategy.

I warned that Taking It Back would be a bloody slog. That it would require a war of liberation.

I am ready to amend this prediction slightly. There is a chance--merely a chance, that a powerful intervention RIGHT NOW could turn the tide. Not enough to get them out, but enough to ensure a midterm election and maybe an even a free and fair enough general election in 2028.

But it must be RIGHT NOW! And it must be EVERY Party Democrat standing up like Cory Booker just did. And literally MILLIONS of us in the streets every day for as long as it takes.

Also pursuing every lawsuit as far as need be to win it. We don't know what SCOTUS will do, but there is a chance that they value their power more than the payola.

Their moves are not surprising--just horrendous. And so far, successful. But what did NOT happen in Germany nearly a century ago were massive protests and massive open resistance. WE saw that movie too. The outcome is not set in stone. It is in play.

They could still declare martial law. They could still turn weapons on citizens who protest. If they do those things it will once again return us to preparing for war. We would be no worse off than before. But those things have not happened. YET.

They still SEEM concerned with polling and public opinion, which is a good thing to note. Let's make OUR opinion register at levels that break the sound barrier. It may not work. But it is absolutely necessary to try it.

Time to take to the streets. Time to hold every Democratic Party leader accountable. Remember “When we fight, we win!”? Let’s put that claim to the test.
