You know those posts with a bunch of scrambled letters and the first four words you see are your words for the year or your reality or your mantra?
All of them are missing words that are important to me. And all consist mostly of words that are useless to me.
I like to choose my own words.
Their words: Alignment--power-- connection-- purpose. Nothing wrong with them on their face. They just don't reflect my life.
I am focusing on work, money, love, health, and home. These are the cornerstones of a good life.
Let's take their word "purpose" for example. The purpose of my life is to live it.
Being H. Sapien, I desire meaning, not purpose. The meaning comes from work and love.
Work is everything I do to have an impact on the world. Nowadays it often involves writing.
Love is romance, family, friends, animals, and certain activities and things that make me happy.
The other three words, money, health, and home, are the support system for the creation of meaning.
Money encompasses all resources that support my systems.
Home is the steady headquarters of my life and the place thar sustains me.
Health encompasses all the things I do to maintain my physical self. Food, exercise, meditation, fresh air, cleanliness, supplements, sleep and rest, recreation, and more.
I use my words to create good habits and to focus on what matters most. But the words have to come from my own inner compass. Those silly memes would be just as accurate if I threw darts at them.
Five words, but they carry the blueprint for a life well lived.
What are your watchwords, and why?
Excellent post; I love your clarity and nonsensical vision of what is truly important. I recently had a health scare and now I'm laser-focused on these same 5 things you've written about.
Do you still have Rocky in your life? How's she doing?
My blue heeler is my best friend.
Happy New Year to you!
